Warrior of Light
Name: Warrior of Light. No, really.
Japanese name: ウォーリア・オブ・ライト (Wōria obu Raito)
Also known as: WOL/WoL
Hails from: Final Fantasy I and a million remakes/ports that all end up the same. Doesn't ever have a name there either.
Fighting type: All-around fighter / Paragon
Seiyuu/Voice Actor: Toshihiko Seki / Grant George
Manliness level: 9/10 (point off for not having a name or, uh, personality)
Story
As the original Warrior of Light, WoL is the unofficial leader of the heroes and the one they all look up to; he is their paragon of unwavering faith in their duty to the light. He also never talks about anything but the light and said dedication to it. After all, the light is always with him. While the other heroes have various reasons for continuing down their paths to their crystals, WoL's only reason is to obtain the crystals and end the eternal battle. Then again, there is the fact that he doesn't remember anything about himself, from his name to his origins, unlike the other heroes. But since he has the light to guide him, he does not waver. He is the Warrior of Light, after all.
Thoughts
WoL is actually the character I'm best at — I breezed through his story mode and used him for Shade Impulse and Distant Glory, as well as for fun in the Duel Colosseum (he's level 100 by now, of course). He is also my favorite hero in the game, which I still have no rational explanation for. I just have this strange fondness for him. It helps that I'm really good at kicking ass using him, too.
Gameplay
The secret to my success is basically air dashing to the opponent right off the bat and flinging his shield in their face with Rising Buckler, then chaining it to Bitter End A, which flings the opponent back. That allows me to regain bravery and go for another strike; if I need to stay back I use Shining Wave. His EX Mode attack is one of the easy ones to perform, and if done correctly can either win the battle or help a great deal.
At the same time, WoL's strong attacks make him a dangerous opponent — he's better to face off against from long-range so you stay away from his attacks. He's definitely not an opponent you want to have to go up against; good thing that's rare in story mode.
