Chaos

chaos
Name: Chaos
Also known as: God of Destruction, God of Discord
Hails from: Final Fantasy I, with cameos in other games
Seiyuu/Voice Actor: Norio Wakamoto / Keith David
Villain type: EVIL DEMON

Story

Chaos is the symbol of absolute evil in the FF series, and, well, that's pretty much what he is here. He appears very little in the plot aside from chats with Garland, preferring to let his villains do most of the evil deeds. His most notable plot appearance is when he shows up to kill Cosmos and when the heroes face him in the end. In both instances he says very little.

Thoughts

I've been fascinated with Chaos from his appearances in the FF series, so I was thrilled to hear about his role in Dissidia and then disappointed by his lack of plot time. They could have done more with him, but they really just let him be the final boss and left everything else to the villains. A pity, but oh well. I did love seeing his scene with Garland near the end of Shade Impulse — what a great way to develop them both and give homage to the original game and their origins. (In the Japanese version it was one of the text scenes, so seeing it voiced was just awesome.)

Gameplay

Try not to die.

Really, that's the only advice I have. It took me the better part of an hour to beat Chaos, and I still have no idea how I did it. He's brutal. If you want strategies, check GameFAQs or try this.

(Sorry for the lack of caps on this page! Battles with Chaos can't be saved for replay.)
