The Emperor
Name: The Emperor
Japanese name: 皇帝 (Kōtei)
Also known as: Mateus, Uboar, David Bowie, Emperor Palamecia
Hails from: Final Fantasy II, though his name (Mateus) is from the Japanese novelization of the game
Fighting type: Trap Maker / Trap Master
Seiyuu/Voice Actor: Kenyuu Horiuchi / Christopher Corey Smith
Villain Type: Fashion-blind
Story
Mateus has a thirst for power that apparently can't be sated, and to that end he can always be found making plans to take control of everything. For him, he just hasn't had a good day until he's screwed someone over for the sake of his plans. No wonder he took over so easily in FFII...
Thoughts
As conniving as he is, the Emperor cannot escape one thing: he's the spitting image of David Bowie's character in Labyrinth, from the eyeliner to the tights. He can't really expect anyone to take his evil schemes seriously, can he? So much for that "master plan," dude, you need to go back to the 80s. (Need more proof? See here.)
Gameplay
Mateus will try and fry you with endless magic, but if you get close to him he's wide open. Watch out for the traps he sets, especially Thunder Crest, and if he pulls up a Light Crest you just need to get behind him.
